Despite Mongolia's worst summer floods for years Alberto and Marica managed to catch plenty of Taimen on film.   Here's a picassa slide show with a few of their photos:

Yoshi now holds our record for fly-caught taimen with the 150.5cm Taimen he caught this September.  Thats just under 60 inches.  We think the same fish had taken a look at Tom Gorman's presentation the week previously, but declined his offer. As I previously reported in our post on this year's taimen records , James had an outstanding week with five taimen on the first day, and a 140cm Taimen mid-trip: he also took some cool photos.  Way to go James!

The end of our Taimen fly fishing season, saw the arrival of the Angling Exploration Group at our camp in Northern Mongolia.   AEG are the revolutionary fly-fishing film makers who produced the Trout Bum Diaries series - part one: Patagonia, and part two: New Zealand. Our previous record Taimen on the fly was caught right in front of camp in September 2006 by Sam Wakerley on his second Taimen fly-fishing trip with us; this Taimen was estimated at around 54 inches (137cm).
